Vehicle Discounts Limited (VDL) is an independent company with the objective
of providing a dedicated service to prospective new van buyers. We aim to
provide information and competitively priced quotes to potential buyers of new
vans, with the intention of providing a simple and easy way to filter out the
time wasting task of searching the internet or phoning around for the best national or local
deals.
For retailers we offer an efficient but cost effective way of advertising their
van services in our trade directories and supplying quotes on any new vans they
are able to sell. We offer low listing prices, but do not
charge commission on sales.
By using our site you will save money and time. Anyone can spend hours
phoning around for the best deals, but by using our Find a Van database or
Instant quote you can
immediately see the best offers on new purchases or contract hire quotes.
UK Van Prices takes care to monitor the usage of the site by Retailers.
For example, we insist on proof
of a valid email address for registration. Any
complaints will be investigated. Please use our contact page
to register complaints. However you should still take all reasonable
precautions to ensure the Retailer is genuine before parting with any money.
Think of the precautions you would take in replying to a newspaper ad. Use
credit cards to make deposits and check the firms credentials before completing
deals.
Our geographical location filtering of quotes can help you decide to buy locally
or nationally.
A pre registered vehicle has usually been purchased to obtain a bulk
discount or dealer bonus. It is pre registered to increase the
manufacturers/dealers sales figures. These vans normally have a very
low mileage
and are usually sold at a significant discount. The disadvantages are that the warranty and age
start from the date of registration and you become the second registered
keeper.
This will depend on the individual Retailer, but most will give you at least
trade value on your old van. Generally the bigger the discount on the
outright purchase price, the less you will get in part exchange. Age and
condition of your van will also affect the amount you receive.
This is not as sinister as it seems. Many Retailers obtain large
discounts from dealers for bulk purchases and wish to sell their vans at lower
prices than their competitors. However if they make their prices publicly known, they
may not be able to obtain the same discounts in future. Similarly Retailers
will not always quote a price i.e. Price on application (P.O.A.). This can
be for the same reason outlined above.
Note: Retailers sometimes have bulk advertising rights and may not have updated
all of their quotes and so will have (P.O.A.) for some vehicles until they have
a chance to amend the quotes.
The short answer is YES. Even if you buy your new van from a Retailer or
broker, this will not affect your warranty. See notes on pre
registered vans.
